A Scentsy Review

Chances are, if you’re reading this review, you’re interested in becomming a Scentsy consultant, or you’re already enrolled and simply looking for a way to make it work for you.  You’ve come to the right place, my friend!

Unfortunately, most of the reviews you’ll find on the internet are written by consultants of the company you’re researching.  I’m not a Scentsy consultant, but I’ll give you an honest, 3rd party review of Scentsy based on my 15+ years of MLM experience and many successes.

A Little History

Scentsy was founded in 2004 by Collette Gunnel and Kara Egan, who hosted their first “home party” in Meridian, Idaho.  Thomas Orville and his wife, Heidi Thompson later purchased the company.  Orville’s vast experience in the direct sales industry has lead Scentsy into a period of immense growth in a very short time-span.  Although they are still in Meridian, Idaho, they continue to expand to accommodate their business’ growing production needs.

Scentsy currently operates in the United States, Guam, the UK, Germany, Puerto Rico, and the Netherlands, and boasts more than 100,000 active distributors marketing their products through direct sales.

A Marketable Product

Scentsy’s main products are wick-less candles that are heated in their decorative ceramic warmers, dispersing the consumer’s favorite scents throughout their homes without the dangers of flame, soot, or smoke.  They offer a wide variety of sizes, colors, and designs of ceramic warmers, ranging from counter-top models to wall plug in warmers, and more scents than I could list here!  The low wattage used in the Scentsy bulbs allow a slow-melting, safe alternative to traditional scented candles.  Each Scentsy bar lasts approximately 50-60 hours, beating traditional candles in performance, as well as safety.

Scentsy also offers a variety of home and car fragrances, hygiene products, and even scented “buddies” for children.

Behind The Scentcy Scenes

Scentsy is definitely a legitimate company with a superior product, but due to the focus on off line sales, there is the potential to tap other markets and boost your sales as a consultant utilizing an online marketing approach.  Yes, you’re going to have to tap your warm market, but there are certainly more vehicles to rocket you toward the success you crave.

You have two options available to you when you enroll with Scentsy.  The cost is about $100, and you can join as a preferred customer to take advantage of the wholesale prices, or you can join as an independent consultant, which allows you to earn commissions and build your Scentsy business.  To maintain consultant status, you must purchase $150 in retail sales per month.

There are 4 ways to earn money with Scentsy.
1. Retail Profits
2. Bonuses
3. Advancement through team-building, or growing your down-line
4. Residual income (generated from the massive down-line I can show you how to build!)

The training offered to consultants focuses on direct sales and the party plan approach.  They focus on home parties, word of mouth, events, and other off line sales tactics, but as with any MLM, the ability to market the products and opportunity successfully online are real.

Utilizing the internet to expand your market isn’t without its own challenges.  You won’t know what you don’t know!
