I hope that website is up! I just started in Zija in late November. My sponsor put someone underneath me, but I haven’t been able to get anyone else and I need another person to get paid. I don’t know what I am doing and I find that he has been doing sales for a long time and he must forget how hard it is to get started. He says to contact people I know, but none of them have the money for the products, let alone the business or autoship! Then he says to put it on facebook, but my facebook contacts are mostly in Africa and they don’t have money either. I do have friends with money in other countries, but I am being discouraged from trying to contact them!
Now I have the trainer and head of another website (8thWonder.org) who is also Zija, and he wants to do my initial buzz calls since I am getting no help from my sponsor. Zija just opened Zija University and in the last two days I have been working on my sites and trying to put together the training that Brian Beane has been doing with what I should have on my sites. Brian just wants me to get lists of people, so I am working on that. Too bad it took the time from November until now for someone to realize that I needed help and to take the time and the interest to help. I love the person who is my sponsor but he sucks at support. He didn’t even put me on a buzz call, which he was supposed to do and said he would. All he did was tell me to watch different videos…that was no help in how to get started or what to do.
Along with what you say in the video, I say find someone in your company who can mentor you. It may not be your sponsor, but there has to be someone.

Hi Greg! I think the message was spot on and can be carried over with just about anything. Knowledge is not power until you are able to put that knowledge into practice. It is like the saying, “Those you can’t DO, teach”…right? I think some of the negative publicity came from people reading the headlines and not actually diving into the material. Really? How can one be successful in any business if they are judging a book by it’s cover. There is so much information out there that we can benefit from. Instead of shutting the door on it, we should keep it wide open, and install a screen door so we can filter the things we want (fresh air, sunshine) and leave the bugs outside.

every body knows, and honesly every body got a noses. To have working knowledge
is to know and apply what you know in order to gain that skill set that bring result.
and to know something (doesnt matter how little/a lot) and not apply what you know to an out put will do nobody any good. which will bring you either way experiences.
now if i had to choose an experience i would choose apply working knowledge,and its a matter of preferences. You and your MLM blue print alright with me. I got the right attitude to learn your MLM blue print.

I have got into the habit of listening to your material as often as possible, and while taking a shower I can get in 15-30 minutes more everyday. I am involved in acn , I really like video. I agree full hearted but I am so confused in what to do first and how to market the services that I provide and when do I aproach them on getting started in being a I B O in acn so I can leverage myself . I am very motivated but very confused H E L P !!!!

I really appreciate your training. That is exactly my problem and I know it but I am planning on taking action. Actually I have been making some contacts and just need to be more aggressive about it. It’s a bit out of my comfort zone as I am not a people person but “I am just sorting.” You never know who is open to an opportunity unless you ask. I read all of your above comments and I really appreciate your honesty and openness with your replies. I am planning on being at the top in five years or maybe less.

Hey Greg, what u say is so true, learning to overcome the insecurity and fear of rejection is the hardest thing no matter what MLM you are in, I’ve been in 2 others, Herbalife is my 3rd, love the products, hate the old fashioned way of doing business. Pull tabs, letterbox drops etc. Yuk not the way i want to do business. Hoping to learn a lot from your training.

Hello Greg, and I do totally agree with you. And I know for a fact I am one of the one’s that is a very shy/inscure person about public speaking. It is something that I am working on. And I am also the ones that is trying to find a way around what I was “being taught” with the company that I am with. I love what they offer but how they do things is not really how I want to do it. Anyways, I do like your mini videos, they are awesome and for those that are like me, I actually do learn alot from them. Keep doing what you do.

I’ve been doing the Advocare rep thing for about 3 years now. Although I am as they call a “four” I ran out of contacts to bug about the product a long time ago and so my down line is non-existent. I’ve all but given up on Advocare at this point and just enjoy my deep discount.
But I’ve been aware of internet marketing and have been studying it and have been using it to build my other business….my fitness business and am now doing pretty good with it. I’ve been able to use some direct response techniques I’ve learned as well as copy writing to pull in leads for my Advocare business and have them take the 24 Day Challenge despite my upline telling me that email won’t work, fliers will not work, and that I have to speak with people I know. Truth be told, when I put the time into promoting a mixer I usually get in about 15-20 leads a week. But as of yet, I have not been able to find a rock solid way to bring in new “business builders.” and this is what I am here to do.
I am also not that great at the actual sales process and could use some help..
So that brings me to a few questions.
Perhaps you have a way of identifying some of the skill sets you talk about and can help come up with an action plan for improving the ones that need more work? How can I better identify the ones I need to working on as I am sure there are more that I don’t know about that I can improve.
Good video and great content! you are so right! knowledge is great, but to APPLY that knowledge is where the true power lies. And you have to practice, practice, practice so that you can become a master. follow the leader, and then become the leader!
Your absolutly right in your video its exactly what my mentors say on a daily basis. Marketers have to have the training and apply them selves to apply the knowledge giving to them, or they will be sitting in the road whle others pass them by

Greg, what you thought of in the shower is no different than what has been said by many other motivational writers and speakers. People grasp on who are looking for the magic pill. Mr. Budd’s hype is all about hooking people looking for the magic pill, then selling a CD or DVD system. That’s how you guys make your money. As long as it is legit, more power to you. So the question is, have you guys been successful in a MLM? If you have refined a system within the system like PPL, then I’m interested. Just prove it to me without all the hype.

Ok, so first off…
Warning: I’m going to be 100% transparent here, and what I’m about to say has always gotten big criticism from die-hard “traditional” network marketers, so brace yourself…
Hype is an ugly word, but the fact is at the end of the day we, all of us (including you) are trying to “sell” something.
Whether that’s our:
* Training programs
* Networking opportunities
* Products/Services
* Coaching Clubs
* Old socks that don’t fit us anymore,
Whatever…
…We’re all marketers, and we ONLY make money when we “sell” somebody on what we have to offer, would you agree with that?
SIDE NOTE:
Some will say… “We’re not selling we’re in a “sharing” business,
and we grow from there…”
My answer: BULLS#!T!!!
No major company who’s ever had success (long term) has ever
been successful “sharing” their stuff.
If that REALLY worked, your companies wouldn’t put top-
selling associates on stage to hard-sell you on the
opportunity.
(And the more you believe you weren’t “sold” the better a job
of selling they did.)
SIDE NOTE OVER:

Oh yeah, Rick’s question…

I can’t answer for JB (although I believe he has) I have built
(and continue to build) teams in residual based pay plans as well
as direct selling programs adding as many as 247+ people a week.

This is really just a statement of Rick’s Skepticism, and that is totally fine.
* Rick has probably been burned before (probably several times)…
* Rick has probably heard EVERY promise under the sun about how THIS
is the Magic System that will get him to the “promise land”…
(which they obviously didn’t).
* Rick has probably been chewed out, laughed at, and ridiculed by
loved ones for joining ANOTHER “pyramid scheme”. (But he knows he
can make this one work).
But most importantly…
* Rick is STILL struggling to get the results he wants out of his PPL
business (that’s why you clicked on my ad and opted in, right?)
OK, So first off…
Rick I’m not picking on you, but I get these questions every now and then and I know that many more feel the same way, but don’t have the courage to voice their fear…
So I applaud you for taking a stand and letting your skepticism known.
And just so we’re clear, I don’t blame you for feeling skeptical, hell I’d think you were crazy if you weren’t skeptical at this stage in your career.
But the bottom line…
NOTHING I can say at this point in our relationship will earn your trust 100%.
I can’t do it…
* I could tell you that I have worked with hundreds of PPL associates
(not to mention tens of thousands from just about every other company
on the planet now). But you’ve probably have heard that before,
right?
* I could regale stories of how my sponsor (who showed this process
to me) was KICKED out of PPL because he was recruiting too many
people. “PROVE IT!”-Rick would say.
* I could forward you copies of text messages from PPL Top Earner Brian
Carruthers personally inviting me to join “private training” calls,
wondering when we’ll build out a process together, or when I’ll
rejoin. (soon Brian, Soon, I promise ;0)
But the truth is, NONE of that matters!
What Rick is really asking is…
“Can you really show ME, in MY COMPANY, With MY skill sets how to implement this type of process, and be successful?”
The answer is: No Doubt.
But would you believe me, probably not.
And why not…
…because of all the hype in the industry.
(like how I tied it all back to hype ;0)
Look, Ever single “guru”, training program, even our own networking companies do their best to get us “all fired up” but in the end do very little to give us actionable direction, and step-by-step strategies to get us where we want to go.
THIS IS WHY IT’S SO IMPORTANT YOU FIND A MENTOR TO WORK WITH.
To help short cut the learning-curve a bit, get some “been there, done that” experience, guiding you through the fog to recruiting results.
But what kind of mentor will work best for you?
Look I’ll be one of the first to admit that Jonathan’s marketing material, is a liiiittle touchy-feely for me.
But make no mistake, that kid knows his stuff.
And when it comes to me, don’t confuse my passion for “hype” they are 2 very different things.
And as to “proof” you can read some of my students comments on this blog, on how they feel about my trainings, but the truth is I can also be a bit too “yoda-ish” at times (Do or Do not, There is no “Try”).
So to answer you question Rick (and everybody else skeptical from all of the hype)
There is no fast way to get to where you want to get but my biggest recommendation is to find someone to mentor you through those rough spots, get to events like Unstoppable Entrepreneur ( http://AskJonathanBudd.com ) network with other people, ask them who they’ve gotten results from, and ultimately pick the one that best suits you.
If it’s with me, great, it it’s with someone else, totally cool. BUT FIND SOMEONE TO HELP YOU, because at the end of the day it’s your job to do what it takes to get the results you want in your business.
However it happens, let it be what you need to achieve your ultimate goal of financial/time freedom.

Obe, everyone goes through this. No one likes to be rejected but as long as you are presenting valid information and with honesty then you shouldn’t worry.
I look at it like this, when I would ask a girl out on a date I would get all nervous and start questioning whether she liked me or not. After awhile I realized, if she didn’t and went any way neither of us would have fun.
Offer something they want and you can provide, otherwise no one has fun.

100% correct…working knowledge must be applied in all aspects of life and without the implementation you will not be successful in things you do. You might get by, but you will not be part of the elite, or as they sometimes say, the “3% Club.”
I think you just uncovered the next big mlm product – now just figure out how to bottle and sell the experience gained from taking action on your knowledge and somehow transfer that through a magic drink and we’ll solve the failure in mlm…lol. I’ve always had a hard time explaining to people to just go ahead and try, even if you’re not 100% perfect, your business will grow 10x faster than if you just learn and watch everyone else. Anyone that left a negative comment did not watch the video and if they are willing to pull the trigger on their ego before knowing what is in their sights, then they shouldn’t or may never be in a leadership position. I agree that action cures fear and yet I still sit in limbo because I (well I really don’t know why). I have all the knowledge I need yet I don’t truly apply it and only God knows the answer to that one. As you were talking about tempering through experience because that is the fire/forge where the steel is tempered and impurities are burnt off, I also believe that iron sharpens iron and that by working with other like minded people you will learn much. But the one key is applied knowledge – and to get that one must take action.

You know, I actually have found that where most folks get stuck in this industry isn’t normally because they don’t have the “latest-greatest-wiz-bang” technique to recruit…
It’s usually because they’re SOOOOO scared of “failure” they never act.
And that’s just a flat out shame, because…
A. they don’t have much to lose in the first place…
and
B. Why be in business if you’re not willing to at least “TRY” to get something going?
And the simple fact is…
What I’ve found for most isn’t that they need “new” training, just encouragement, a friendly nudge, or (for some) a swift kick-in-the-ass to get them moving…
Here’s the secret guys & gals…
If you get nothing else out of all of this “commotion”, I pray you get off your duff and do something (ANYTHING!!!)…
Even if you think I’m the “ANTI-CHRIST”, I can live with that…
Because I know from years of experience the one thing that will get you better results in your business, your relationships, hell, Life in general…
Is JUST giving it a solid effort…

I am new to all this! But I did not get anything negative from the video at all! I have read self-improvement & motivational books and seen DVD’s and on & on! I have yet to experience something in what I call “Book for Dummies” step by step program for those of us who were not raised in the tech generation! When I say “Book for Dummies” it’s not because we are unteachable and stupid many of us come from carreer based jobs that were put out of work due to this economy! Most of us are not stupid and we see our society going more entrepenerial(Excuse spelling here please)! The reason being we are more and more seeing our workplace turning to temp workers because they do not have to pay benefits. So where does that put all of us? Exactly! Anyway what you said here is just Business Sense! Experience as sometimes scary to some of us to succeed we must venture out of our comfort zones! So here I am! May not have all the right questions now but I will have! LOL!

You know, many of the people that are responding are (I assume) new to the industry and are still what I call “true believers”.
In other words, they haven’t yet had the chance to get kicked in the teeth by the traditional recruiting strategies, most network marketers experience.
Whether that’s because the corporate strategies are working for them (which it does for a VERY small percent) or because they have yet to take action and implement those techniques to see they are more challenging then originally promised.
Either way, like you said, the point of this video is to KICK PEOPLE IN THE A$$! & Get them taking action, and woken up to the fact that spending all your time in “study mode” is great to learn “what” to do, but will net little results compared to the person that takes action and Implements even just a little of what they’ve studied.

Greg…were you talking to me??? LOL! I feel like must have been watching my actions and you knew exactly where I am this very moment in my business. Great message and oh so timely! I have just a few more things to put in place and then in front of the camera I go to start my marketing! The camera part is not my fear…what to say exactly is! But I’m a talker so I pray that it will just flow out when I need for it to…whatever that “it” will be. Lot’s to learn, but as you said, none of it matters if I do not execute any of the knowledge I have obtained.

But it’s all too true! It took me years of actually applying the knowledge (at the time mistaken for skills) to come out on top and actually be able to but up an effective PPC or Facebook Ads or even Banner Ads Campaign that produced results! Every time I made a mistake, I tried to figure out why it didn’t work, then I tried it a little bit differently… This is the Testing Greg is always talking about…
Such as, first put the opt-in box in an easy to find space. Then move it the next month and see what happens to your conversions, then move it again and again and again to find the most effective place for you box to be. It’s different for every site and every business. Just because someone targets the same Market as me doesn’t me they are going to put their opt-in box in the same place… Because their website is set up differently. And it’s the way it should be. Every business is different and every blog, website, capture page should be different from someone elses, otherwise how are you going to set yourself apart from the rest of the herd?

You Know That’s one of the most Frequently Asked Questions I get ALL the time:
“How Do I Promote My Business using the internet/direct response marketing strategies without violating my comapanies policies and procedures?”
In fact I get asked that so often I’m creating a new section in our blog that will answer that (and the other top questions) in the near future.
The short answer I can give is this…
You shouldn’t be promoting your primary business.
People don’t buy from you because of the company that produces it and they don’t buy for the product/service itself…
…They buy for the RESULT they can expect to get from your product/service…
So, don’t sell your company (i.e. PPL) sell the “Benefits” their services provide.
Again, I plan on creating an entire (in depth) video covering what and why you should follow this mentallity in a future post so be watching for that
